Wrote this song during lockdown and I still don't know what it is about (that's not a problem)
Perhaps a post apocalyptic landscape with people finding their own ways through new challenges. Images and feelings painted with words and musical mode in a kind of pointilliste.
lyrics
Hazel rides the bow
A wrecking ball swings through the town
The tide has washed their prints from the palace
Snakes are up
Ladders are down
They told me my hand made the mark on the page
They told me the journey was bound
These memories were cast by the soul of a sinner
These memories will never be found
William finds a plough
Hears a rumour the horse has been drowned
He sells the steel for a bag of tomorrows
Plants his ladders in fertile ground
The snakes have a smile for each shoe on the road
The rattling dice keep them keen
The sound of his steps are a hypnotic rhythm
That keep his mind tied to his dream
Janey wins a vow
Turnips and stockings in the deep frozen ground
Gathering coins from those hunched in the chapel
Hiding masks in their eiderdowns
They told us the feathers were clean
They told us the pious were brave
So we looked for our love in the heart of an angel
The place where the just could be saved
